| This is a place along a busy road which hardly anybody gives notice to. Somebody planted some ten camellia shrubs which are quite grown and in full bloom now.

| Unfortunately you can’t come near the flowers but the whole picture is like a pinkish painting below some eucalyptus trees along the local golf club.

| Opposite there is a garden centre where they are selling those extremely fragrant skimmias, they smell similar but better and stronger than lily-of-the-valley.

| Along our dirt road the wild gorse shrubs are in full flower, when it is sunny and warm they smell like coconut. They are good spiky fences for cattle and sheep. We had a little demonstration in front of the office of the harbour master on Monday and today we could read in the local paper that he voted against the planned salmon farm – at least in the proposed location. A small David’s step against the giant Goliath?
