Wegen des furchtbaren Erdbebens in meinem Geburtsland Chile bin ich darauf aufmerksam geworden, dass ich als knapp Einjährige das höllische Beben am 22. Mai 1960 mitgemacht hatte. Es war das heftigste, das jemals auf der Erde gemessen wurde. Ich lernte, dass der Begriff “Ring of Fire” nicht nur ein Song von Johnny Cash ist, sondern ein Begriff aus der Geologie, der den Pazifischen Gürtel bezeichnet, in dem 90 Prozent aller Erdbeben dieser Erde stattfinden.

da ist ja sehr interessant, unvorstellbar so etwas mitzuerleben. Mir hat schon der Sturm bzw. Orkan hier letzten Sonntag zum ängstigen gereicht. Man glaubte auch der Frühling kommt, aber es istschon wieder kühler und nachts immer noch Frost.

Tja, Eliane – wenn man bedenkt dass damals 1/4 der chilenischen Bevölkerung obdachlos wurde…grausam.
Wenn ich bei meiner Mum in Californien bin – dann bin ich jedes Mal froh und glücklich kein größeres Beben mit zu bekommen.
